• Step 1

  Order an LED light kit. The Ikea Dioder is popular but our LED kits from Light Enhancing Designs at http://www.ledyjm.com/ are the same price with remote controls and additional features and more diodes per strip.

• Step 2

  Find an area you want to provide lighting or accent lighting for in your dorm room:
  Under beds, couches, desks, tables etc.
  LED behind TV's and monitors are quite popular for reducing eyestrain and accenting your entertainment center.

• Step 3

  If you are going to place a kit in plain view like under a shelf, you may want to use an LED Disc Kit which are nice circular discs that can be placed in plain view. Otherwise, the strip kits are good to provide accent lighting since they are longer and provide a more even glow.

• Step 4

  Install your kit using the included double sided tape and keep the wires as much out of view as possible
